Drybrushing your Space Wolves model
This is a very important step in painting your models. Dry brushing is a simple technique you can use to bring detail out in almost everything.
Drybrushing isn’t that great for your brushes bristles, so make sure you have a brush that is specifically for dry brushing. Don’t dry brush with a good brush unless you want to destroy it. All you have to do in order to dry brush, in case you don’t know is, take your brush, put it in some paint, then proceed to rub the brush against a newspaper or something similar until almost all the paint is off. I usually test this by rubbing the brush across the palm of my hand. If there are little streaks showing you are done. If there is a lot of paint on your hand, you need to take more off by brushing it on the newspaper.
Once you have a tiny amount of paint on the brush you want to apply it to the model. If you haven’t done so already you need to base your model with shadow grey. After this is done you want to dry brush your model with Space Wolves grey. Make sure you get all the armor with this technique. Don’t drybrush the weapons, furs or skin. If you get some paint on these parts, its ok. You’ll cover it up later. Once you go over the model and hit all the raised surfaces you’ll notice detail coming out of the model that you didn’t see before. This is one simple way to get some detail without a ton of work.
