How to completely finish your Space Wolves models
At this point you have your Space Wolves model painted and everything is detailed. Now you the first thing you have to do is help the base of the model from plastic to grass. Or whatever you choose of course. I make all my bases grassy. It’s a good middle ground.
The first thing I do is paint around the base. I use snot green from Citadel Paints. Once this dries I paint the top of it the same color. Once the top dries I go over it again with another coat of green, but before it dries I dip the base in flock, also known as hobby grass. I’ve been doing this for years and it gives pretty decent results. You blow off the loose grass and the grass that stays will stay there for good.
The last and final step is to get a matte sealer. This is sometimes called clear coat. This will protect your models paint and make your paint job last a long time. I usually put about two or 3 light coats of this on. Just make sure you take the time to let it dry between coats. This protective layer should protect your model from bumps and scrapes and allow it to look great for years to come.
